Your third eye chakra is located above and between your brows and it’s the highest feminine chakra. It’s color is indigo, it’s “element” is light and it’s related to: intuition, imagination, dreaming, psychic abilities and the appreciation of beauty and fairness.
I want to note that it’s fairly rare for either of the two highest chakras (third eye or crown) to be overactive. But it IS becoming more common in this age of enlightenment. We even have children being born with lots of upper chakra energy and psychic abilities. We call them indigo or rainbow children.
Unfortunately in this highly-energized era, opening the upper chakras isn’t always the blissful thing it used to be. Now, when a person has an overactive third eye chakra, that energy can literally pull them up into the ethers and leave them uprooted and ungrounded.
When your third eye — or crown — is super overactive, you can get signs of mental instability. This is because too much energy in the upper chakra realm can literally pull you away from the ground. It can leave you feeling (and acting) like a helium balloon with no tether. Imagine what that’s like. An untethered helium balloon can’t control where it goes or if it will ever land. It’s at the whim of the wind.
In human terms, it creates a general sense of anxiety, whereas root creates the opposite — depression. That’s why we’re always striving for balance. Equilibrium in our energy field takes us into our heart chakra (our literal balance point) and our true essence — love/acceptance/pure presence.
When you see a homeless person talking in nonsensical ways, the cause is most likely an overactive third eye or crown chakra. The two upper chakras are the farthest from the earth and grounding of the lowest chakra, the root. Interestingly, the root is related to home. So often, the mental instability of VERY overactive upper chakras is found in those who are chronically homeless.
Remember, overactivity in a chakra is a spectrum. A person having hallucinations or suffering from schizophrenia is far more overactive than one who simply fantasizes a lot. And the same can be said for a person who suffers from chronic migraines compared to someone who has occasional headaches.
